I went to my first life drawing class, which was led by James Horton, president of the Royal Society of British Artists. I can now understand why artists draw from the nude figure - it is immediately obvious when mistakes are made! It was so helpful to get immediate feedback about how to improve my drawing. James helped me work on getting a sense of form and volume by using some well placed strokes. Although I understood his points, in practice it will take a lot of drawings before I am able to achieve them!
