oil pastel on paper
This is my first oil pastel painting. I woke up at 5 am on my 30th birthday and the first thing I thought of was the oil pastels my mom had given me. I love magnolia trees and painted this magnolia flower from memory as I'd just been admiring some earlier in the week. Later on in the day I looked at the structure of the real thing much closer and found that I had reproduced best what I enjoy about these flowers the most - the petal shape and colors.
